Carbon steel globe valve

The globe valve is a crucial shut-off valve that seals by applying torque to the stem, pressing the valve disc against the seat to prevent leakage.

 

The sealing components include the valve disc and seat, with the stem moving vertically along the seat’s centerline. The globe valve’s small lift height during operation allows for easy flow regulation. Compared to gate valves, globe valves are simpler in design, easier to manufacture, and maintain.

 

Globe valves have a longer service life due to minimal wear on the sealing surfaces, as there is no relative sliding during operation. However, they require more torque to operate and cannot open or close quickly. The flow path inside the valve is more tortuous, resulting in higher fluid resistance and energy loss.
